What is the difference between AEO and GEO?+

AEO (Answer Engine Optimization) is about being the extractable answer in tools like Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, and featured snippets. GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) is the broader practice of getting your brand mentioned and recommended inside generative AI responses. They overlap heavily, so I run them as one engagement.

Is AEO/GEO different from normal SEO?+

It builds on SEO — you still need to be crawlable, fast, and authoritative. The difference is structure and quotability: answer engines reward a direct answer up top, clean schema, named statistics, and consistent entities far more than keyword density. I do both so they reinforce each other.
